Jan 5: Workshop – How To Keep Vet Bills Down (PetUtopia, Beaverton)
Now, more than ever, we are watching every dollar. But not taking your pet to the vet isn't the answer!
Bills can be kept to a minimum if we are proactive with our pet's well-being! Presented by Dr. Yvonne Wikander, Cornell Road Veterinary Hospital.

Our Special Projects Agility Ring Crew was engaged by the Portland Agility Club (PAC) to man two rings for three full days their AKC Canine Agility Trial .

"Plump" is not "pleasant" for your pet! Excess weight is, in fact a primary contributor to a whole host of preventable medical problems.

February 6: Workshop for Dogs and Handlers – Massage Away Those Winter Aches
Cold, damp Oregon winters are just as hard on pets as they are on humans. Massage is a proactive therapy that is extremely beneficial for dogs living with mobility issues or chronic illness as well as those recovering from surgery. For healthy, active dogs, massage is an effective way to prevent muscle related problems and strain injuries.

February 14 – March 17: The Eighth Annual Tom & Mom Cat Special
In conjunction with Spay Day USA, Animal Aid joins other local animal rescue groups and participating local veterinary clinics to offer $10 male cat neuters and $20 female cat spays to low-income households. February 21: Workshop for Dogs and Handlers – On the Ball: Core Strengthening and Hindquarter Awareness
When you can't be outside, working with a Theraball is a great way to exercise your dog's mind and body as well as strengthen its core muscles.

Mother’s Day is fast approaching and we have the purr-fect way to honor
or memorialize the “mom” in your life – whether she is your
mother, grandmother or special friend who has always been there for you.

Our Special Projects Agility Ring Crew was engaged by the Columbia Agility Team (CAT) to man three OUTSIDE rings for two full days at their USDAA Canine Agility Trial at the Clackamas Co. Fairground in Canby, Oregon, minutes south of Portland. CLICK HERE to learn more about it...
June 19-20: Shelter Garage Sale!
The first Animal Aid garage sale of the year is next weekend, at the shelter! We'll be open from 9 - 4 on Saturday, June 19th, and from 9 - 12 on Sunday – half off everything on Sunday!. We need to clear out some space, so things are going CHEAP.
A few highlights of the sale include:
- Odor Lockers non-clumping litter, $2.00 per CASE
- Odor Lockers Health Alert litter, $.50 per BOX
- Science Diet dog food: large breed puppy, small bites puppy, sensitive skin, and sensitive stomach
- Cat, dog, and small animal carriers (new and gently used)
- Men's, Women's, Children's clothes: $2.00 ber BAG
- Small kitchen appliances
- Small furniture items
- Lots of housewares, holiday items, etc.
PLEASE park at Southwest Auto Body on Beaverton-Hillsdale Highway - parking will be limited, as we are using our lower parking lot for the sale.

Time to honor the father figure in your life – whether he is your dad, grandpa or good friend who has always been there for you.
Celebrate “dad” by sponsoring a Heartstrings Pet in his name. The wonderful cats and dogs in the Heartstrings program are very special – whether they need a little extra medical care or have been waiting at the shelter for a really long time, they could use your support.
