Our Shelter

Please note: Not all pets available for adoption live at our shelter – all of the dogs and several of the cats are in foster homes. CLICK HERE to learn how to meet one of the pets who are "living off campus".

Visiting Hours

Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays*: 11:00 am to 4:00 pm, evenings by appointment only

Saturday*: from Noon to 4:00 pm play with the kitties during
Show and Tell.

Wednesday and Sunday: by appointment only (these are dedicated volunteer work days)

* Please note that the Shelter will be closed to visitors on the following days:
  • July 4 - Independence Day
  • September 1 - Labor Day
  • November 27 - Thanksgiving
  • December 24 - 25 – Christmas Eve & Day

Please note that our STREET address is quite different from our MAILING address.

Limited parking is available immediately in front of the building – and don’t hesitate to double-park (as in the photo above).  It’s the only way we can fit all the visitor and workers' cars in our lot.  You can also park up the hill a ways; just don’t park across the street directly behind our parking lot because it would be very easy for someone backing out to hit a car parked on that side of the street

Need a little help finding us?

  • If you just like your directions in "plain English, please":
    On the stretch of SW Beaverton-Hillsdale Highway connecting Raleigh Hills to Hillsdale, 42nd falls between Dosch Rd and Shattuck Rd. Turn UPHILL (South) onto 42nd and drive about a block – you will see our shelter on the righthand side of the road.
