Animal Aid Cares Fund
The Animal Aid Cares Fund was created to help those facing urgent and overwhelming medical or behavioral care needs. Animal Aid works in partnership with veterinarians across Portland, offering each partner clinic the ability to submit one grant request per month, at their discretion, to cover costs up to $500.
In 2014, we expanded the Cares Fund to incorporate Helping Hands Grants. Helping Hands grants support animals adopted from our shelter who have health or behavioral conditions that make their adoptions more financially challenging. These grants can assist them and their forever families with medication, training, or other special needs.
In 2015, we began offering Synergy Grants to fellow animal welfare nonprofits to establish a stronger network of support across the community. These grants are focused on keeping companion pets in their homes and are funded on a case-by-case basis.
Since 2011, the Cares Fund has provided more than $70,000 in life-saving grants to animals and animal guardians in need.
