The Animal Aid shelter is currently open by-appointment only. Please CLICK HERE to schedule a time to meet the cats at our shelter (all dogs are in foster homes and require an application to schedule a meeting). Please reach out to us by phone or email if you’d like to schedule a virtual appointment or ask about possible appointment options outside of our normal operating hours.
All adoption visitors must be masked at all times while indoors (no face shields or neck gaiters, please), and proof of full COVID-19 vaccination will be required. We will accept your physical vaccination card or a clear, legible photo of your vaccination card. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation−thank you!

Thank you for your interest in adopting a cat or dog from Animal Aid! Please complete the application below, and an Adoption Counselor will reach out to you to discuss the adoption process.
Please note: We encourage you to copy your answers to or from a separate document, in the event that you are unable to complete the application at one time or a technical error occurs.
To ensure that you receive follow-up emails from us regarding your application, please add adopt-cat@animalaidpdx.org and adopt-dog@animalaidpdx.org to your email directory/contact list.
Some info you may want to gather before starting your application:
- The name and phone number of your property manager (if you rent your home).
- Phone numbers for 2-3 personal references (non-family, please).
- The name and phone number of your vet clinic.
