Since our facility is currently closed to visitors, we know that many of you have been missing the opportunity to interact with our cats, and boy do they miss you, too! Rest assured, they’re all being well taken care of—you might even say they’re running the shelter these days—and are so excited for the next chance to see you. For now, be sure to take a peek at some of their smiling and sometimes sassy faces below, and stay tuned to our Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter for more photos, videos, and updates in the weeks to come.
As a reminder, we are continuing to process adoption applications, but all visits will be by-appointment, subject to safe social distancing practices, and may be placed on hold as needed for the health of our staff and foster families. For more information regarding adoptions, please email adopt-cat@animalaidpdx.org or adopt-dog@animalaidpdx.org. We appreciate your patience and understanding!

…And our foster animals are loving this new stay-at-home plan!
After the stay-at-home recommendation was announced for Oregon this past month, we witnessed an outpouring of foster interest from the public, and we’re so thankful to everyone for their desire to open their home and heart to an animal in need. During a time of uncertainty and stress, we also understand the joy and purpose that welcoming an animal into your household can bring. With the Animal Aid shelter closed until further notice, we’ve temporarily transitioned some of our shelter cats into foster homes. All of our rescue dogs are also in foster homes, in keeping with normal operations. We currently have a wait list for fostering both cats and dogs, so please email foster.cat@animalaidpdx.org or foster.dog@animalaidpdx.org before filling out an application, and we’ll get back to you as quickly as possible. In the meantime, please enjoy a sampling of photo updates as some of our rescues keep calm and relax in their cozy foster digs:
