The Basics: Hey, I’m Dove! I have FIV (feline immunodeficiency virus), which you can read more about that here. I got along well with some feral cats in a backyard before I was rescued. I was un-neutered and shy but friendly before being trapped. I have big tomcat cheeks and lots of scars from surviving on the streets. I have broken canine teeth, but I had a dental and they didn’t need to be removed. It took me a few weeks to realize I was safe in the inside world, but now I am loving being clean and pampered. I’m a talkative guy, and I like lots of lap time and attention. I am very healthy besides my FIV.
Likes: I love laps! I want to sit in a lap and get lots of pets! I like to play sometimes too. I was a stray kitty who probably spend most of my life on the streets so now I want a life of luxury. I’m very needy for my 2 favorite things napping in your lap and food! I can’t get enough of either and I will meow and tell you when I’m not getting them.
Dislikes: I don’t like things coming at me too fast or too many changes all at once, and I may swat if I am feeling overwhelmed (typically without claws).
Looking for: Since I am FIV+, Animal Aid wants me to go to a home with other FIV+ cats or no other cats. I would probably do great with other FIV+ cats. I could maybe live with a dog but I might be scared of dogs.
My estimated birth date is 7/1/2013.
All of our animals are vaccinated, treated for parasites, microchipped, spayed or neutered, and cats are tested for feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV) and feline leukemia virus (FeLv). All animals receive any necessary veterinary care (dentals, etc.) until the time of adoption.
