The Basics: Hello! I am Nutmeg! My sister, Sesame June, and I are frequently described as the most “beautiful and perfect pair”! Plus, we are world travelers – I was once a street dog from Azerbaijan which you’d never be able to guess with how well behaved I am! My foster mom says I am the “alerter”, while my sister is the “hunter” when we see squirrels! We absolutely love one another and can often be found snuggling, wrestling, or sneaking a kiss or two.
All of our animals are vaccinated, treated for parasites, microchipped, spayed or neutered, and cats are tested for feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV) and feline leukemia virus (FeLv). All animals receive any necessary veterinary care (dentals, etc.) until the time of adoption.
Heartbreakingly, we found out I have Stage 3 Kidney Disease and a kidney stone that is being treated with a special diet and quarterly blood tests that will need to be kept up for the rest of my life. We are searching for a super loving home that will provide the dedicated care needed while I am here and for my sister, when I am no longer around. Luckily, I am not showing many negative symptoms yet, so we still have plenty of wrestling to do and will not be separated!
Likes: Staring lovingly into your eyes, barking at squirrels, running around and playing with my sister makes us feel so free!
Dislikes: I can be a little shy and reserved when I first meet you. I am not a fan of quick movements around my head, but I usually am the first of us to warm up to people!
Looking for: A compassionate home dedicated to keeping a close eye on me, my Stage 3 Kidney Disease, my strict diet, and my sister!
Weight: 22 lbs
My estimated birth date is: 3/5/2016
