IMPORTANT VOLUNTEER UPDATE: To assist with Coronavirus (COVID-19) prevention, we are placing a temporary hold on volunteer orientations and trainings for the remainder of March. We welcome applications from those interested in helping and greatly appreciate your support, but please note that we will not be onboarding new volunteers until the beginning of April at the earliest. Volunteer on a Committee

Use your professional skills to assist with our operations, fundraising, and outreach efforts. Volunteer opportunities include positions on our development, events, facilities, finance, and marketing committees. We are so grateful to the people who give their time and expertise to our organization!

Development Committee

Are you a party planner like no other? Can you craft a grant that will dazzle funders? Want to increase your understanding of nonprofit development? Join our Development Committee to share your skills and learn new ones along the way!

Requirements

      • 2-4 hours per quarter commitment for meetings.
      • Additional hours as needed for projects or subcommittees.
      • Basic understanding of fundraising, events, and budgeting.
      • Ability and/or interest in networking on behalf of the organization.

    Events Committee

    Lend your event planning and assistance skills to Animal Aid’s fundraising and outreach! Events range from larger annual fundraisers to smaller outreach activities such as restaurant nights, photo events, plant and garage sales, pop-up events, and more!

    Requirements

    • Hours vary per month based on scheduled events. Events are often held on weekends.
    • 2-hour quarterly event meeting, generally held on a weeknight (open to all event volunteers, but attendance is not required).
    • One or more of the following skills or interests: event planning, event support, outreach, fundraising, and marketing.

    Finance COMMITTEE

    Got a knack for numbers? Can you crunch a budget with the best of them? Want to increase your understanding of nonprofit finances? We’re seeking volunteers interested in helping us expand our Finance Committee.

    Requirements

    • 2-4 hours per quarter commitment for meetings.
    • Additional hours as needed for projects or subcommittees.
    • A basic understanding of finances and budgets and interest in expanding your skill set.

     

    Facilities

    Put your handyworker skills to use to make a difference in the lives of animals. Help oversee the property, equipment, and maintenance of the building and technology for Animal Aid. Projects include maintenance tracking, building renovations, technology purchases, landscaping, and more.

     

    Requirements

    • 1.5-hour quarterly meeting on a weeknight.
    • Additional hours as needed for projects or subcommittees.
    • Interest in interior design, building maintenance, or equipment research welcomed!
    • Experience in project management, architecture, or contract work are a plus.

    Marketing

    Do you love animals and want to find creative ways to tell the world how they can help? Join our marketing team and work on a wide-range of projects, including assistance with materials for events and fundraisers, newsletters and appeal letters, press releases, social media management, photography, and more! 

     

    Requirements

    • 2-hour quarterly meeting on a weeknight.
    • Additional hours as needed for projects or subcommittees.
    • Background in communications/marketing, graphic design, photography, public relations, writing, or social media management, as applicable.
    • Willingness to be trained on and adhere to Animal Aid’s marketing, design, and social media guidelines.
